Units 5-11 National Surveyors House, 27-29 Napier Close, Deakin Removal of the Concessional Status of Lease
Purdon Planning act on behalf of the lessees of the abovementioned units, which comprise national associations, being:

Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute (formerly the Institute of Surveyors)
Spatial Industries Business Association (formerly the Association of Consulting Surveyors Australia)
The Leases for Units 5-11 inclusive are each described as a ‘Concessional Lease’. The Concessional Lease includes a clause that restricts sub-letting of the units to any other party.
The lessees propose to remove this clause from the lease which would, if approved, allow them to sell or sublet unoccupied units to a third party. The overall use of the units as offices would not change and so any new tenant would lease the unit for office purposes. As part of the application documentation, Purdon Planning have prepared a draft Social Impact Assessment (SIA) as well as a draft Planning Report to support the Development Application (DA) for the required Lease Variation. At this stage we are seeking any feedback you may have regarding the proposal, prior to finalising the reports over the next few weeks. It should be noted that the proposal is only to remove the concessional status of the lease and no redevelopment of the property is proposed. Once our reports are finalised, a Lease Variation DA will be lodged with ACTPLA for consideration. ACTPLA would publicly notify the DA and SIA and there would be further opportunity for public comment at this time.
